Appointment of Matteo Marchisio to help partners deliver sustainable tire recycling to automotive industry
O?wi?cim, Poland – Matteo Marchisio, business unit director, synthetic rubber at Synthos, has been appointed to the board of directors of Tyre Recycling Solutions (TRS), announced Synthos – a minority stakeholder in TRS since April.
With nearly 20 years’ experience in the rubber industry, Marchisio joined Synthos in his current role in June 2017. He will now help TRS to advance its position in the recycled rubber powder market.
“Many leading tire manufacturers anticipate upcoming legislative changes in the EU regarding a possible minimum recycled content in tires,” noted Marchisio.
“Acceptance of high-quality rubber powder from end-of-life tyres as a viable alternative to virgin material in high performance rubber applications is rapidly increasing." he added.
A Swiss ‘scale-up company’ founded in 2013, TRS has introduced proprietary technology designed to add value to the recycling chain.
TRS, said Synthos, offers “cost-effective new materials and unique compounding solutions for use in tires, industrial, construction and footwear applications.”
