Silicones supplier expanding lab capabilities and co-locating teams
Waterford, New York – Momentive Performance Materials is relocating its global corporate headquarters from Waterford, to the former SI Group location on Balltown Road in Niskayuna, New York
In addition, the silicones and speciality chemicals manufacturer is building a new R&D centre at the site, with completion set for 2024, said Momentive 1 July.
Together with the corporate and R&D employees, Momentive expects to be relocated 200 members of staff to the new site.
The corporate staff may begin to relocate to the site in Niskayuna in the autumn of 2022, the company said.
Momentive added that it had no plans to relocate the Waterford manufacturing site, which it said will remain one of its “top global production facilities.”
“Moving forward with another step in our previously announced Waterford transformation, we are committed to maintaining a strong presence in the Capital Region and expanding our regional presence,” said Momentive president and CEO Sam Conzone.
“This move provides an opportunity for Momentive to upgrade and expand our R&D/Technology labs to a state-of-the-art building and co-locate our teams,” he added.
