Clarifies position regarding persistent bio-accumulative and toxic chemicals
Wolverhampton, UK – MacLellan Rubber has issued a statement in response, it said, to increasing requests to clarify its position regarding persistent, bio accumulative and toxic (PBT) chemicals.
Enquiries, said the processor, refer specifically to : Decabromodiphenyl ether; phenol, isopropylated phosphate (3:1); 2,4,6-tris(tert-butyl)phenol; hexachlorobutadiene; and pentachlorothiophenol.
“We can confirm that none of these chemicals, along with all others listed on the REACH, ROHs, and TSCA restricted lists are used in the manufacture of our sheeting materials or wider product range,” MacLellan said 1 July.
The Wolverhampton-based company added that it “works hard to ensure our materials comply with all the latest technical standards, environmental and legislative controls.”
These efforts, noted MacLellan’s statement, encompass requirements under both EU REACH and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules.
