Elastomer innovations to help automotive industry transition to CO2-neutrality
Dusseldorf, Germany – Zeon Europe GmbH, the European subsidiary of Zeon Corp. is presenting its sustainability strategy “vision 2030” at the German Rubber Conference (DKT) currently underway in Nuremberg.
The policy roadmap calls for technological innovations in the areas of special elastomers, polymers and special chemicals, said Zeon in a statement.
"We see the greatest potential – and at the same time the greatest challenges – for technical developments in the transformation of the automotive industry towards... CO2-neutral mobility," said Hubert Thimm, commercial director of ZEON Europe GmbH.
As a raw materials supplier, Thimm went on to say, Zeon will aim to address challenges associated with electrification, digitisation and climate neutrality.
"According to our vision 2030, we use raw materials that are as sustainable as possible when developing new products," he said.
In addition, Zeon said it is driving the decarbonisation of existing products towards the circular economy.
