"Business profits are deteriorating due to significant increases in costs..."
Tokyo – Denka Co. Ltd is to raise prices for its styrene monomer products with effect from 1 July.
The Japanese supplier is increasing the price for the industrial chemicals by Yen6/kg, said Denka in an announcement 31 May.
Denka said the hike was due to the rising costs and the operations related to the maintenance of equipment.
“Business profits are deteriorating due to significant increases in costs,” said the Japanese supplier.
“Our effort alone cannot absorb all the increasing costs although we are making the best effort to minimise them”, added the company.
The price adjustment, Denka said, was “necessary to correct profitability” and in order to continue the stable supply of styrene monomer to the market.
