Boston, Massachusetts – Cabot Corp. is increasing prices globally for all Cab-O-Sil hydrophobic and colloidal silicas, effective 1 July.
In a statement 24 May, the supplier said it was raising the prices by 15% to address “the increased costs associated with treating agents and transportation as well as higher plant operating costs.”
The increase, it said, will help Cabot remain a “reliable, long-term supplier of high-quality products and services.”
Fumed silica is used as an additive in silicone elastomers, composites, adhesives, coatings, energy storage and consumer goods.
