Project to see ‘intelligent manufacturing’ of an additional 380k tires per year
Guiyang, Guizhou – Guizhou Tyre is to expand its annual capacity for all-steel engineering radial tires at its manufacturing plant in Zhazuo Town, in Guiyang.
In a Chinese-language filing with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange last month, the tire maker said it had earmarked Yuan1.9 billion (€273 million) for the “intelligent manufacturing” project to produce 380,000 tires per year.
The project is expected to complete in 36 months and will be implemented at the company’s existing plant in Zhazuo Town, Xiuwen County, Guiyang City.
In October last year, Guizhou Tyre announced that its two largest OE clients, China’s leading forklift makers Anhui Heli and Hangcha, are expected to double their combined production by 2025.
This, it said at the time, will translates into 380,000-unit supply shortage each year for Guizhou Tyre.
The company ranked 29th in ERJ's 2021 Global Tire Report and operates one production plant in China with the capacity to manufacture 19.4 million units of radial and bias tires for truck & bus, agriculture and construction machinery segments.
Overseas, the producer of the Advance and Samson brands, operates a production facility in Tien Giang, Vietnam, with the capacity to make 1.2 million units of truck and bus tires per year.
