Birla raising carbon black prices by 15%
Supplier cites increasing costs as key reason for hike in North America
Marietta, Georgia – Birla Carbon is increasing the prices for all carbon black products manufactured in North America, the company announced 16 May.
The 15% increase will come into effect 1 July, applying to all shipments made on or after the date.
The manufacturer said increasing costs in materials, freight, logistics, and operations were the key reasons for “this necessary change.”
Birla Carbon, part of Indian multinational conglomerate, the Aditya Birla Group, is one of the main global suppliers of carbon black.
The company operates 16 manufacturing facilities across 12 countries and two technology centres, in Marietta, US, and Taloja, India.
