Among other segments, laboratory in Essen to support CASE, rubber & plastics additives
Downers Grove, Illinois – US chemicals and ingredients distributor Univar Solutions Inc. has opened a solution centre at its European flagship facility in Essen, Germany.
With a focus on "sustainability, collaboration and development," the laboratory will cover areas such as product formulation, benchmark prototyping, product performance testing & efficacy, product analysis and shelf-life testing.
The centre will provide end-to-end services to various industries, including coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers (CASE); as well as rubber & plastic additives businesses, said Univar 1 March.
The facility spans 700 square metres and includes laboratories, a pilot plant, meeting rooms and offices.
"This latest solution centre will help our customers solve problems, develop more sustainable solutions and bring new and better products to market, faster," said Nick Powell, president, global ingredients & specialities, and president, EMEA & APAC.
The facility will add the “depth and breadth of available ingredients and speciality chemicals”, which Powell said will enable Univar’s customers to respond quickly to regulatory changes.
