Company aims to extend ISCC Plus certification to another Italian facility, overseas plants
Morrovalle, Italy – Versalis-owned Italian compounder Finproject has obtained ISCC Plus certification at its industrial sites in the Marche and Abruzzo regions of Italy for the manufacture of compounds and products from sustainable raw materials.
The sites were recognised for the production of bio, bio-circular and circular compounds and bio, bio-circular and circular plastic products, made by using sustainable raw materials, Versalis announced 13 Jan.
Versalis, the chemicals arm of Italian energy giant Eni, acquired the full ownership of Finproject in September last year, after purchasing a 40% share in the compounder a year earlier.
Versalis operates two ISCC Plus certified plants in Dunkirk, France and Oberhausen, Germany, from which Finproject is supplied with its raw material.
ISCC Plus is part of the ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) voluntary scheme which allows companies along the supply chain to monitor and demonstrate the sustainability of their products.
In 2022, Finproject aims to extend ISCC Plus certification to its Italian Padanaplast site and overseas manufacturing sites.
Founded 57 years ago in Morrovalle, in the Marche region of Italy, Finproject industrial group, is a vertically integrated into Versalis and its core business is focused on the production of compounds and foam injection moulding products.
It operates 11 production and research facilities across Italy, Canada, China, India, Mexico, Romania and Vietnam.
