Nuremberg, Germany – The German Federal Cartel Office is investigating various cable manufactures and other industry-related companies for suspicions that they “could have coordinated the calculations of industry-standard metal surcharge in Germany,” according Leoni AG.
Separate statements by cable manufacturers, Leoni, NKT and Nexans confirmed that sites in Germany are being searched as part of the price-fixing investigation.
“Leoni AG informs that…[it] is cooperating with the authorities and will investigate the allegations,” said an 18 Jan statement by the automotive supplier.
Danish manufacturer NKT also reported on 20 Jan that searches were being carried out at its two main German sites, and that it was cooperating with the authorities.
French cables and optical fibre specialist Nexans also issued a similar statement on 20 Jan, saying two of its sites were being searched in Germany.
