EU truck registrations rise sharply in July, August

Brussels -- Registrations of heavy trucks grew by 11.8 percent in August and 5.5 percent in July,. compared with a year previously, according to data from ACEA, the federation of vehicle makers in Europe.

In light trucks a decline in July cancelled out a rise of 3.9 percent in August, while registrations of mid-range trucks grew by over 12 months in the two-month period. Registrations of buses and coaches declined in both months.
