Omnova to hike cost of vinyl pyridine latex

Fairlawn, Ohio --Omnova Solutions Inc. will increase the price of vinyl pyridine latex by 5 cents per dry pound, effective Oct. 15. The company's latex is used for tyre cord, rubber mechanical goods and in related markets.

Omnova said the increase is due to escalation in costs for raw materials, logistics and distribution, and for energy used in operating the firm's chemical processes.
