Waldkraiburg, Germany-Kraiburg TPE GmbH has broken ground for construction of a new administration building at its Waldkraiburg home.
Franz Hinterecker, chief executive officer of the styrenic thermoplastic elastomer producer, started off the new building in a 15 Sept ceremony, accompanied by a group of shareholders and local mayor, Siegfried Klika.
The new building will allow room for expansion of staff at the unit, which currently employs a total of over 210 people. It is being constructed next to the TPE production plant, completed in 2001.
Kraiburg TPE makes thermoplastic elastomers based on hydrogenated styrenic copolymers. It is active worldwide, through subsidiaries in Italy, Spain, the UK, the US, Malaysia and China, and "is intent on expanding its strong market position," the group said in a statement on the new office unit.
"The building of our new administration block is a sign of the positive way business is developing at Kraiburg TPE in otherwise tight economic conditions," said Hinterecker in the company statement.
"We are very grateful to the local authorities, particularly Waldkraiburg and Mühldrof councils," for dealing promptly with matters and supporting the plans, he added.
Mayor Klika added that the development is a boost to the local economy, helping Waldkraiburg become an important mid-size centre for commerce and industry.
