Ex Vita executive to head Scapa Tapes

Blackburn, UK-Scapa Group plc has appointed Calvin O'Connor as group chief executive. O'Connor has "extensive industrial experience covering a wide range of international markets and products," according to a Scapa statement on the appointment.
Following an early career was with Courtaulds plc, O'Connor joined British Vita plc in 1996 as finance director. For the last four years he has been the managing director of Vita's £400-million (Euro 580-million) turnover Industrial Polymers business.
"We are delighted to welcome Calvin with his wealth of experience to Scapa and look forward to him continuing the improvement in our business," said Keith Hopkins, chairman of Scapa, in the announcement.
Scapa Tapes makes a range of tapes, many of which use elastomeric adhesives, for the automotive, industrial and medical sectors.
