Belshina seeks investors for all-steel OTR tyre plant
Bobruisk, Belarus -- Belshina has launched a Euro 50 million proposal to develop an existing bias-ply tyre factory into a plant for all-steel radial off-road mining tyres. The proposal says the current capacity of about 16 000 tyres per year will be increased, and the plant would be the first of its kind in the CIS countries.
In a proposal document, Belshina says. "The aim of this project is to create and to introduce into production Off The Road all-steel radial tyres 21.00R35, 24.00R35, 27.00R49, 33.00R51 and 36.00R51 of new generation for existing mining dump trucks and perspective mining machines." The document says the plant should be on stream in four years.
The company says it "has fulfilled feasibility study of the project, worked out business-plan, specified production technology and the list of the main equipment." Belshina's director General, Victor Moroz says investors are invited to join with Belarus in this project.
Belshina says the project, "is to be executed through reconstruction and technical re-equipment of the existing OTR tyres production." The proposal adds, "Presently bias (cross-ply) tyres are manufactured, but they are unpopular while all-steel radial tyres are in great demand as providing high total and carrying capacity of mining machines. Radial tyre 21.00R35, 24.00R35, 27.00R49, 33.00R51 and 36.00R51 corresponds the requirements of Belarus automobile industry (the main customer - PO "BelAZ" for original equipment) as well as mining and ore concentrating industry worldwide and in Russia."
