Michelin adds photovoltaic generator in Bamberg
Bamberg, Germany -- On October 7, the Bavarian Minister for the Environment, Werner Schnappauf, inaugurated the photovoltaic plant at Michelin's tyre factory in Bamberg, Germany.
All four Michelin factories in Germany are now equipped with solar panels. The equipment on the roofs of the Bamberg site alone covers more than 45 000 m2. With an output of around 1900 kW, under optimal conditions, the plant can provide electricity throughout the year for 470 households of four people. Because of this solar energy, carbon gas emissions will go down by 1 340 tonnes per year.
