Performance Fibers to expand capacity at converting plants
Colonial Heights, Virginia -- Performance Fibers Holdings Inc. will increase capacity and enhance productivity at the polyester yarn and fabric converting plants it acquired recently from Diolen Industrial Fibers.
Performance Fibers did not disclose financial or capacity details of the expansions, to take place at plants in Scottsboro and Winfield, Alabama.
The company has changed the name of the Winfield, Alabama.-based textile-converting unit, previously known as Southeastern Converting Inc., to Performance Fibers.
"We are committed to growing our new operations in Alabama and investing at the two local sites to increase capacity, enhance productivity to increase our competitiveness in North America, and develop innovative new materials to bring to the industrial fibers marketplace," said Greg Rogowski, president and CEO of Performance Fibers.
