Trelleborg announces Q3 result. Sales, profits up
Trelleborg, Sweden -- During the third quarter of 2005, the Trelleborg industrial Group increased its net sales to SEK 5846 million ( Q3, 2004: 5460m). Organic growth was approximately 4 percent. Operating profit rose to SEK 425million (previously 383m). For the third quarter, all five business areas reported increased net sales and improved operating profits.
In a statement, the company said, "The focus on growth in Asia has been further strengthened and several initiatives have been taken to increase presence and production capacity. The construction of Trelleborg's new plant in Shanghai, China has begun. At the same time, production capacity is also being extended in India and Sri Lanka."
The statement continued, "As a consequence of successful efforts during the year to focus Trelleborg as a streamlined industrial group with the business concept of damping, sealing and protecting in demanding industrial environments, Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) has reclassified Trelleborg as belonging to the "Industrial" sector."
