Evington Aerodrome, UK -- Reaching nearly 180 mph (285 kph) , Visually-impaired driver, Mike Newman, has broken his own Land Speed World Record, driving alone in a tailor-made BMW M5 fitted with ContiSportContact 2 tyres.
On Tuesday October 11th, at Evington Aerodrome near York, UK, Mike smashed his previous record of 144.7mph by averaging a speed of 167.32mph. Whilst Mike hit peak speeds of up to 178.5mph, high performance Continental tyres ensured that the M5 kept contact with the runway at all times.
