Toyo doubles capacity at Australian compounding plant
Minto, Australia -- Toyo Tyre & Rubber Australia Ltd has opened a new mixing hall at its technical rubber goods plant in western Sydney, Australia. The company officially opened the plant on October 20, and Roger Monahan, general manager said it is likely to be running full by the middle of next year.
The company has moved all the old equipment from its former unit at Moorebank, and added new machinery at a new building a few miles away, in Minto, Sydney. The company now has longer cooling lines, automatic sheet stackers and flux vector drives on the mixers, which offer better torque at low revs, said Monahan.
The company supplies compounds to local rubber processors, most of whom are in the automotive supply sector.
Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. president and chief executive officer Yoshio Kataoka officially opened the new rubber compounding and mixing factory at Minto on October 20.
