Bekaert reports 11 percent sales growth in nine months to Sept

Kortrijk, Belgium -- In the first nine months of 2005, NV Bekaert SA achieved consolidated sales of Euro 1 440 million and combined sales of € 2 286 million, an increase of 11 percent and 14 percent respectively.

Bekaert's wire products unit dominated overall sales and the unit's consolidated sales were up 11 percent in the nine months, to Euro 1242 million.

In a statement, Bekaert said, "While sales will continue to grow in the fourth quarter, Bekaert expects the weakening of the European and North American markets to continue. "
