Korean producer of NBR, SBR joins IISRP
Houston, Texas -- LG Daesan Petrochemical Ltd. has joined the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers. The announcement comes as the IISRP executive committee concludes their 2005-2006 Mid-year meeting.
Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, LG Daesan produces solid NBR, SBR and BR at its manufacturing site in Daesan (Anhung), on Korea's West coast. The site was previously owned by Hyundai Petrochemical Co. LG Daesan was split off from LG's Chemical activities in January 2005, becoming an independent company making many monomers as well as olefinic thermoplastics and the elastomers mentioned above.
Bahn Suk Kim, president and CEO (pictured), will become LG Daesan's director representative to the IISRP and also will serve on the board of the IISRP's Far Eastern Section.
LG Daesan is the group's second member from Korea.
