Goodyear drops 50 jobs at Dunlop plant in Washington, UK
Washington, UK -- As a result of reduced sales requirements at its factory at Washington, Tyne and Wear, Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK Limited has confirmed that approximately 51 jobs will be lost at the factory by the end of March 2006. The company commenced discussions with the Trade Unions on the subject of the redundancies on 17th November 2005.
Andrew Harper, Production Director for the Washington factory said "In order to be competitive we have to continuously look at ways of reducing cost and improving efficiency. This decision was necessary to control our costs with reduced production requirements."
