South African tyre recycling plant will have capacity for 1kt/month
Cape Town, South Africa -- A new tyre recycling firm, SA Tyre Recyclers, plans to open a 25 000-square-meter plant in the Atlantis Industrial Park about 25 miles from Cape Town.
When it opens in February 2006, the facility will have a production capacity of more than 1000 tonnes of crumb rubber per month, and will be the first modern tyre recycling facility in South Africa, according to a company spokeswoman.
SA Tyre Recyclers hopes to open further plants over the next three years to supply both local and international markets with crumb rubber, she added.
