Trelleborg opens Chinese JV for making special hoses

Shangyu, China -- Trelleborg Engineered Systems, a business area within the Trelleborg Group, has established a joint venture with RPM Engineering Corporation for the satellite production of composite hoses in China. The new company, Trelleborg Composite Hose Shangyu Company Ltd, will be owned equally by the two parties.

The manufacture of high-quality composite hoses will commence at RPM Engineering's production facility in Shangyu City, in the province of Zhejiang, in central China. The Trelleborg Group will contribute with certain machinery and technical expertise.

This niche product is aimed primarily at the Chinese/Asian market, with customers mainly in the chemical and petrochemical processing

industries.

Initially the company is expected to generate sales of SEK 20 M. The ambition is to use Trelleborg Composite Hose Shangyu Company Ltd for continued expansion in the Chinese/Asian market in selected hose segments.
