Grace increases prices on silica materials
Worms, Germany -- Grace Davison Engineered Materials a business unit of Grace GmbH & Co, KG, will increase price for its full range of silica gels, precipitated silicas, colloidal silicas and molecular sieves sold in Europe and the Middle East, effective from January 1st 2006 or as contracts allow.
Price increases will range from 5 to 12 percent dependent on product and region and, said the company, will allow Grace Davison to continue to invest in customer service, R&D and new innovative products.
The company blamed the increases on cost pressures in raw materials and utilities driven by energy, natural gas and transportation. The company saw no respite in the cost increases through 2006.
