Lanxess to cut BR capacity in Orange, Tx
Leverkusen, Germany -- Lanxess is to close one of its four polybutadiene rubber manufacturing lines in Orange, Texas from the end of December.
The company said that the remaining three lines at the facility have been updated and the re-fit has allowed the company to make either solution SBR , or BR catalysed with neodymium or lithium in the same production line.
Dr Joachim Grub, head of Lanxess' polybutadiene business unit said, "The optimisation of our cost structure remains an ongoing challenge in an environment of high energy and raw amterials costs, especially in the United States."
