Stankiewicz to expand manufacturing site
Spartanburg, South Carolina -- Stankiewicz GmbH has more than doubled the size of its plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina to increase the production of automotive parts.
The ContiTech AG company invested about $10 million to expand the factory to 13 550 m2 from 6565 m2. Stankiewicz also has increased the size of its work force to 300 from 192 during the last several months, the company said.
The company decided to expand the Spartanburg site after it won a large contract to produce a large number of different parts for the new Mercedes M-Class being built by DaimierChrysler at its Alabama facility.
