EU car registrations continue downward drift in November
Brussels -- The ACEA has released its car registrations data for the month of November 2005. Registrations were 2.8 percent lower than in November 2004, while registrations in the 11 months to November were 0.5 percent lower than the same period a year earlier.
In a statement, the organisation said, "Total new passenger car registrations in Europe (EU-23 + EFTA) in November 2005 amounted to 1,168,628 units, which represent a decrease of -2.8% with respect to November 2004. Considering that the number of working days was substantially the same (only Poland had an extra trading day in November 2005), these results seem to confirm a stagnation of the market. Cumulative figures for the first 11 months of the year show a marginal decrease for total Europe (-0.5%) and a slight increase of +0.1% in the EU-15."
