Malaysia's NR stats for October
Kuala Lumpur -- Malaysia produced 103 820 tonnes of natural rubber in October 2005, 18.8 percent higher than October 2004, but 9.3 percent less than in September 2005.
During January - October 2005, exports of natural rubber was mainly to People's Republic of China 318,691 tonnes, Federal Republic of Germany 112,129 tonnes, Republic of Korea 62,651 tonnes, U.S.A. 58,522 tonnes, France 39,209 tonnes, Islamic Republic of Iran 30,430 tonnes and Brazil 28,131 tonnes. Total exports to these seven countries accounted for 68.5% of the overall NR exports
During January - October 2005, NR was imported mainly from Thailand 74.0%, Republic of Indonesia 10.2%, Philippines 6.5% and Myanmar 5.3%. Total imports from these four countries accounted for 96.0% of the overall NR imports.
For the period January - October 2005, the major NR consuming industries were rubber gloves 58.6%, rubber thread 15.7% and tyre & tubes 12.5%. The consumption by these three industries constituted 86.8% of the total domestic consumption of NR.
Stocks of NR held as at the end of October 2005 was 181,747 tonnes, a rise of 2.8% compared to the level of stocks held at the end of the previous month. Year-on-year, stocks also rose by 4.9%
