Shanghai, China-DuPont Performance Elastomers has opened a new technical centre in Zhangjiang High-tech Park, Pudong, Shanghai. The move is designed to support the elastomer supplier's customers "in the fastest growing elastomers market in the world," said a DuPont statement on the new centre.
The new centre joins established technical centres for elastomers in Akron, US, Yokohama and Utsunomiya in Japan, and Meyrin, Switzerland. Services offered including training and after-sales technical support as well as compounding, processing and property testing.
DuPont Performance Elastomers now has "leading-edge research and development capability" in key US, European and Asia-Pacific centres, offering customers global service, said DuPont.
The new China centre will play its part in DuPont Performance Elastomers' global initiative to use "sophisticated laboratory information management systems" and "electronic collaborative tools" to enhance technical support for elastomer users, the group added.
"The Asia-Pacific region, and especially China, is already providing strong growth opportunities for the company's specialised high performance elastomers and sealing solutions," said Torkel Rhenman, global technology director with DuPont Performance Elastomers.
