Yokohama publishes large-tyre manufacturing patent
Tokyo -- Yokohama Rubber Co has been granted a European patent for a tyre-building process for large construction machinery tyres. The process is claimed to save cost and time by using a single flexible bladder during both the building and curing phases of the manufacturing process. The European patent (EP1604810 A1) was published in December 2005, but the Japanese patent (JP2004276376 A) was granted in October 2004. The patents have been issued in respect of Yokohama engineers, Maekawa Takeshi; Nakame Heikichi and Takahashi Takeshi
The original Japanese patent cites three further patents, all granted in 1972: JP49090380, JP49074284, JP49015776.
