UK tyre industry body adds members
London -- The UK's tyre industry representative body -- the Tyre Industry Federation -- has added four new members to the British Tyre Manufacturers' Association (BRMA/BTMA) and Imported Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ITMA) who founded it. At an Extraordinary General Meeting held on 6 December 2005, the TIF welcomed Industrial Tyre Association (ITA), National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA), Retread Manufacturers Association (RMA) and Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) as members. The organisation then held its first full board meeting with all members -- including representatives of the new members -- present.
In a statement, the TIF said, "The Federation now includes all the significant associations within the [UK] tyre industry and is representative of the whole tyre supply and disposal chain in the UK. This move greatly strengthens its position in being able to speak for the whole industry on a wide range of issues.
