Michelin puts Indian expansion on hold -- report
New Delhi, India -- According to The Hindu Business Line, Michelin has put its expansion plans in India on hold until more cars and trucks run on radial tyres there. The newspaper quoted Hervé Dub, ceo of Michelin India saying that the pace of radialisation and adoption of advanced technology by the domestic truck and bus industry was not in keeping with the company's initial estimates.
Dub said only one percent of tyres sold in India are radials, adding, ""This leaves us with a huge window of opportunity to tap."
