Natural rubber prices continue to climb
London -- Prices of natural rubber continue to climb in markets around the world.
In Tokyo the benchmark 6-month futures prices reached 238.7 yen/kilo. In India's spot markets, sheet rubber grades topped Rs 76.5/kg - an all-time high - with futures contracts continuing to trade over Rs80/kg. George Valey, president of the Indian Rubber Dealers Federation (IRDF) told reporters that the upward trend in prices will continue in line with international price movements.
In Singapore, RSS3 was trading above 198 US cents/kg with futures showing prices up to 199.75 for the 12-month contract, slightly down on yesterday's price. RSS1 was at 323 Sing cents/kg (or around 199 US cents) with the 12-month price at 327.25.
