China ends EPDM dumping probe as Jilin withdraws complaint
Beijing - China's Ministry of Commerce has reportedly ended its investigation into alleged dumping of EPDM from the United States, the Republic of Korea and the Netherlands.
Semi-official news reports coming out of China quote a Chinese-language report on the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MofCom) website outlining the news. MofCom has not yet posted the story in English. English-language versions of MofCom announcements usually appear two to three days after the Chinese-language versions.
The Xinhua report says An MoC investigation of EPDM imports began in August 2004 when China imposed a range of duties on EDPM imported from the three countries, with a maximum rate of 43 pct effective from Nov 16 last year. The ministry said it had stopped the investigation due to the withdrawal of domestic petitioner Jilin Chemical Industrial Co Ltd.
