Rome, Georgia - A recent press release from Michelin claimed that it invented the radial motorcycle tyre in 1987. Pirelli North America has said this is factually incorrect, saying Pirelli produced the he first radial motorcycle tyre in 1983. The MP7, it says, was produced by Pirelli for the launch of Honda's VF1000R motorcycle.
