Bridgestone launches Blizzak Nordic winter tyre

Brussels -- Bridgestone's Blizzak Nordic is a new studless tyre range developed, says the company, specifically to meet the toughest performance demands of Northern Europe's winter climate. This new-generation design replaces the existing WS-50 series.

While the tyre offers a higher speed rating (R-rated) than its Q-rated predecessor, the tyre remains at the lower end of the performance spectrum.

The principal areas of technological innovation lie in the radically revised tread design. An all-new V-shaped directional pattern excels in removing slush and surface water - dramatically reducing the tendency for aquaplaning. In addition, it provides more efficient self-cleaning of snow trapped between blocks.
