Titan, USW to seek ITC antidumping relief on Chinese farm tires
Washington -- Titan International Inc. will join with the United Steelworkers union sometime in April to petition the International Trade Commission for antidumping duties on farm tyres imported from China, according to Maurice Taylor Jr., Titan chairman and ceo.
Titan and the USW have data showing that farm tyre shipments from China, if you deduct shipping costs and factor in the costs of raw materials, are not being sold in the US at fair value, Taylor said.
"Everything in China on the tyre side is subsidised," he said, adding that Chinese tyres also are starting to fail in use because of quality problems.
