EPA offer grant for large truck energy efficiency study
Washington DC --The US Environmental Protection Agency has earmarked up to $350 000 for a grant to evaluate energy saving and emission reduction strategies for long-haul trucks.
According to the EPA, the grant recipient will evaluate the fuel and emissions saving effectiveness of several technologies installed on one truck, including wide-based tires and automatic tire inflation systems. Eligible parties--including state agencies, universities and either public or private non-profit institutions--may submit applications until May 15.
