Bridgestone increases European tyre prices
Brussels - Bridgestone Europe NV/SA has announced that it will increase prices on all of its tyre brands and categories. It will apply to all replacement channels in all European countries. The increases are between 3.5 percent and 5 percent depending on the product category, and are scheduled to take effect from 1 June 2006.
According to Guenter Unterhauser, senior vice president sales & marketing of Bridgestone Europe, The increase in the cost in raw materials has continued even beyond our expectations. We have to recover some of those costs by this price increase and we expect further increases will be necessary in the coming monthsâ€.
