Goodyear to expand use of self-sealing technology

Akron, Ohio -- Goodyear will expand its self-sealing commercial tyre technology to include more mixed-service tyres for vehicles that need maximum off-road traction.

The company said its DuraSeal Technology will be available in Unisteel G177 severe-service drive tyres.

The technology -- which helps seal tread-area punctures of up to a quarter of an inch (6.35 mm) in diameter -- previously was available only in Unisteel G287 MSA and G288 MSA mixed-service tyres.
