Cooper names European VP

Findlay, Ohio -- Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. has named Julian Baldwin vice president of its European operations and managing director for Cooper Europe.

Baldwin will oversee the firm's sales, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain and finance activities in Europe.

“We have a strong UK manufacturing base, a strong network of affiliates and distributors across the continent and two very strong brands in a competitive marketplace," Baldwin said.

"The net result is genuine excitement on my part to push the company forward."

He replaces retiring vice president Ron Shield.

“Julian's experience in key positions, plus his business background prior to joining Cooper, make him extremely well qualified for this new opportunity,” Cooper International tyre division president Hal Miller said.

“Under Julian's leadership, Cooper Europe undoubtedly will continue its pattern of sales growth, increased manufacturing and logistical efficiencies and enhanced profitability.”

Baldwin joined Cooper's Avon Tyres unit in England as a business development manager in 1993 and most recently served as marketing and motorsports director.
