SI Group lifts phenolic resin price
Schenectady, New York -- SI Group Inc. will lift the price for all grades of its phenolic resin by between $0.20 (€0.16) and $0.40 per kilogram on 15 Sep.
The company, formerly known as Schenectady International, said the price hike was primarily due to ''the continued upward global market price pressure of crude oil, energy, transportation, packaging and petrochemical feed stocks seen over the past few months.''
''Additionally, the recent force majeure announcements related to formaldehyde may have significant impact on the supply and pricing of phenolic resins,'' a statement from SI Group said.
