Ten percent of UK motorists fail tread-depth test
London - Yet another survey has found that UK motorists consistently ignore tread depth regulations. The latest survey, from Kwik-Fit, a fast-fit tyre retailer, shows that roughly ten percent of UK cars have one or more tyres that fail to meet UK regulations on tread depth.
Kwik-Fit notes that any accident in which illegal tyres are deemed to have been a contributory factor may invalidate insurance, leaving the motorist liable for any damage or injuries caused.
