Bridgestone's Polish air springs operation to start shipments to OEM

Wolsztyn, Poland - Bridgestone Corp. subsidiary Firestone Industrial Products (FSIP) Poland will start shipping its air spring products to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Weweler and German trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull, after getting approval from the two companies.

Dutch-based Weweler Nederland BV manufactures suspension systems for trailers, semi-trailers, buses, garbage trucks, fire trucks and agricultural vehicles.

“We opened the Poland plant to serve the growing European market for top quality air springs,” FSIP president Mike Cerio said.

“We have been producing parts in Poland for the European aftermarket since September 2005 and receiving OE (original equipment) approval confirms that our products are not only meeting the demand, but also the expectations of our customers.”
