Bandag expands OTR retread materials line
Muscatine, Iowa - Bandag Inc. has expanded its Continuum line of off-the-road (OTR) retread materials.
The Continuum line, launched in 2005, will now include serpentine tread designs for rigid dump trucks and industrial/container handling applications.
The Iowa-based truck tyre retreader claimed the serpentine designs “offer greater flexibility than other retread application methods and products.â€
“The global shortage for new tyres has created opportunities to meet customer demand previously not served by our product line,†said Mike Poirier, Bandag's North American OTR sales manager.
Bandag said the Continuum tyre designs are available for equipment in the construction, mininng, logging, utility and marine port industries.
Other Continuum tread designs are:
* C1031 - designed for use on straddle carriers in port facilities throughout the world. The tread design features continuous ribs and deep groves and is available in tyre size 16.
* C1041 - for use in industrial/container handling applications requiring a traction design. The non-directional design provides enhanced traction in severe conditions, according to Bandag, and is available in tyre size 18. The C1041 pre-measured serpentine tread segments allow for easy application to a tyre casing and provides a similar finished appearance to a new tyre, the company said.
* C1071 - designed for rigid dump trucks requiring superior traction, is available in tyre size 2700 and also comes in pre-measured serpentine tread segments that allow for easy application to a tyre casing. It provides a similar finished appearance to a new tyre, according to Bandag.
