Ansell commits to latex glove production
Red Bank, New Jersey - Ansell Healthcare, a subsidiary of Australian latex maker Ansell Ltd, has committed to continuing to manufacture and sell latex gloves despite plans to expand its line of latex-free products.
The New Jersey-based unit said it was addressing current market conditions associated with latex, which included rising costs and a reduction in latex glove manufacturing.
Ansell recently announced that it will invest more into research, new product development and business development as part of its overall operating strategy.
“Our commitment to latex remains strong and we will not abandon our customers who prefer latex gloves,†Scott Papier, regional director at Ansell Healthcare, said.
“Every effort will be taken to meet the increased demand, though it will take time for our programs to take full effect.â€
