Lanxess restarts production of Vulkanox DPPD
Leverkusen, Germany -- Lanxess AG has restarted production of its Vulkanox DPPD (N,N'-Diphenyl-p-phenylenediamine) rubber antioxidant.
The German firm said it has received numerous requests from customers and will make commercial volumes of the product available again during the fourth quarter of 2006.
The antioxidant is made and distributed at the company's South African plant in Isithebe.
Vulkanox DPPD is used in the rubber sector as an antioxidant and, according to Lanxess, is a more effective antiozonant than its chemical counterpart, Vulkanox 3100.
Vulkanox DPPD is used as a stabiliser in elastomer manufacture.
